May 22, 2018: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 49 equities making new 52-week lows in Tuesday’s session. On the NYSE decliners led advancers by about 1.58 to 1 and on the Nasdaq, decliners led advancers by about 1.32 to 1.

J.C. Penney Co. Inc. (NYSE: JCP) dropped about 8.8% Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $2.28. Shares closed at $2.50 on Monday and the stock’s 52-week high is $5.63. Volume of around 43 million shares was more than double the daily average.The company announced this morning that CEO Marvin Ellison is leaving to assume the CEO role at Lowe’s. Investors were not happy.

Helios and Matheson Analytics Inc. (NASDAQ: HMNY) fell by about 18.3% Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $0.50 after closing at $0.61 on Monday. The 52-week high is $38.86. Volume of about 18.6 million was nearly double the daily average of about 9.8 million. The company that owns MoviePass had no specific news today.

Celldex Therapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ: CLDX) traded down less than 0.11% Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $0.65 after closing Monday at $0.66. The stock’s 52-week high is $3.26. Volume was about 30% above the daily average of around 2.9 million shares. The company had no specific news.

Spectra Energy Partners LP (NYSE: SEP) traded down about 1.8% Tuesday and posted a new 52-week low of $30.82 after closing Monday at $31.39. The stock’s 52-week high is $46.47. Volume totaled around 3.5 million, more than four times the daily average of around 800,000. The company had no specific news.
