Tuesday was another down day for the broad U.S. markets, with all major exchanges taking a step back. Crude oil recovered a little, then backed off again and is hovering just above $65. The S&P 500 sectors were mostly negative. The most positive sectors were consumer staples and utilities, up 0.4% and 0.9%, respectively. The worst performing sectors were industrials and materials, down 2.2% and 1.9%, respectively.
Crude oil was last seen trading down 1.1% at $65.12.
Gold was last seen trading down 0.2% at $1,278.10.
