July 24, 2018: The S&P 500 closed up 0.5% at 2,820.24. The DJIA closed up 0.8% at 25,240.38. Separately, the Nasdaq was flat at 7,840.77.
Tuesday was a relatively positive day for the broad U.S. markets. Both the S&P 500 and the Dow were fairly positive while the Nasdaq lagged. Crude oil made a decent gain in the session. The S&P 500 sectors were mostly positive. The most positive sectors were materials and energy up 1.3% and 1.2%, respectively. The worst performing sectors were real estate and consumer discretionary each down 0.3%.
Crude oil was last seen trading up 0.8% at $68.44.
Gold was last seen trading flat at $1,224.70.
