Snap, Blue Apron Tumble into Thursday's 52-Week Low Club

September 20, 2018: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 51 equities making new 52-week lows in Thursday’s session. On the NYSE advancers led decliners by about 2.06 to 1, and on the Nasdaq, advancers led decliners by about 2.7 to 1.

Snap Inc. (NYSE: SNAP) traded down about 3.2% Thursday to set a new 52-week low of $8.67 after closing at $9.16 on Wednesday. The stock’s 52-week high is $21.22. Volume was about 20% higher than the daily average of around 20 million. The company had no specific news. Shares are about to close up 0.6% after a steady climb all day.

Blue Apron Holdings Inc. (NYSE: APRN) traded down about 2.4% Thursday to post a new 52-week low of $1.64 after closing Wednesday at $1.68. The stock’s 52-week high is $5.93. Volume was about 30% below the daily average of around 3.4 million shares. The company had no specific news. Shares are on track to post a gain of more than 11% for the day after making a sharp U-turn this afternoon.

William Lyon Homes (NYSE: WLH) traded down about 9.7% Thursday and posted a new 52-week low of $16.84 after closing Wednesday at $18.65. The stock’s 52-week high is $32.95. Volume was about six times the daily average of around 370,000. The homebuilder’s shares were downgraded at Wedbush this morning.

New York REIT Inc. (NYSE: NYRT) dropped about 0.6% Thursday to set a new 52-week low of $17.01. Shares closed at $17.11 on Wednesday and the stock’s 52-week high is $78.90. Volume was about nine times the daily average of around 100,000. The company had no specific news and managed to close with a small gain for the day.
