Encana, Weatherford Straggle into Tuesday's 52-Week Low Club

November 13, 2018: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 225 equities making new 52-week lows by mid-afternoon on Tuesday. On the NYSE advancers were leading decliners by about 1.18 to 1, and on the Nasdaq, advancers led decliners by about 1.39 to 1.

Encana Corp. (NYSE: ECA) traded down about 2.3% Tuesday and posted a new 52-week low of $8.22 after closing Monday at $8.41. The stock’s 52-week high is $14.31. Volume was more than 60% above the daily average of around 14.4 million. The company had no specific news.

Weatherford International plc (NYSE: WFT) traded down 3.9% at $0.98 Tuesday after closing at $1.02 on Monday. The stock’s 52-week high is $4.41. Volume was about 25% below the daily average of around 21 million. The oilfield services company had no specific news.

EQT Corp. (NYSE: EQT) traded down at $18.87 Tuesday to set a 52-week low for the portion of the company that was left behind following today’s spin-off of the midstream business into a new firm call Equitrans Midstream Corp. The stock’s 52-week high is $64.54. Volume was more than three times the daily average of around 4.7 million.

Kinross Gold Corp. (NYSE: KGC) dropped about 0.8% Tuesday to set a new 52-week low of $2.50 Shares closed at $2.52 on Monday and the stock’s 52-week high is $4.78. Volume was about equal to the daily average of around 12.3 million. The gold miner had no specific news.
