March 11, 2019: The S&P 500 closed up 1.5% at 2,783.27. The DJIA closed up 0.8% at 25,650.81. Separately, the Nasdaq closed up 2.0% at 7,558.06.

Monday was a positive day for the broad U.S. markets. The S&P 500 and Dow Jones singlehandedly wiped out all of last week’s loss in Monday’s session alone. After suffering another 737 crash, Boeing was the only component in the Dow that was negative. Crude oil made a handy gain in the session. The S&P 500 sectors were entirely positive by far and away. The most positive sectors were technology, energy, consumer discretionary up 2.2%, 1.7% and 1.5%, respectively. The “worst” performing sector was utilities up 0.7%.

Crude oil was last seen up 1.3% at $56.81.

Gold was last seen trading down 0.5% at $1,293.10.
