Top National League Contenders by Average Ticket Price

The National League has been marred with underperforming teams this season, with eight of its 15 clubs owning a record below .500. Despite the disappointing season more than half of its teams are having, the NL will still have several major players in the hunt for the Fall Classic come October. The Nationals, Dodgers and Cardinals each control their respective division, with the Giants still making a bid in the West as they trail the Dodgers by 2.5 games. As the season enters its final weeks, some of the National League’s playoff-bound teams will also see interesting ticket prices on the secondary market. Below is an average secondary market price breakdown for remaining regular season games among teams that will undoubtedly enter the postseason and teams still knocking on the door.

San Francisco Giants | Avg. Price: $77.75

In the thick of a battle with the Dodgers in the NL West are the Giants, who sit just 2.5 games behind the first place Dodgers. The average secondary market price of San Francisco Giants tickets for remaining regular season games is $77.75, the most expensive among all playoff contenders in the National League. The Giants own a comfortable first place lead in the NL Wild Card if their divisional championship falls through, however, as they lead the second-place Pirates by four games.

Milwaukee Brewers | Avg. Price: $47

The Brewers have also cooled in recent weeks, paving the way for the Cardinals and Pirates to gain significant ground in the NL Central. Though they sit six games out of first place in the division, they trail the Pirates by just 1.5 games in the Wild Card standings. The secondary market average of Milwaukee Brewers tickets for remaining home games in the regular season is $47. The Brewers will welcome the three sub-.500 teams to Miller Park this month in the Reds, Cubs and Marlins, which will each serve as pivotal games in hopes of clinching a playoff berth.

Pittsburgh Pirates | Avg. Price: $46

The Pirates have dropped 4.5 games behind the first-place Cardinals in the NL Central but control the second spot in the Wild Card standing. They will need every win they can manage, however, as both Atlanta and Milwaukee trail by just 1.5 games for the second Wild Card spot. The average secondary market price of Pittsburgh Pirates tickets for remaining regular season games is $46.

Atlanta Braves | Avg. Price: $45

Atlanta held a division lead for a good portion of the season, but have been overtaken by the Nationals and sit nine games back in the NL East. However, they are just a game and a half behind the Pirates for the second Wild Card spot in the National League. The Braves will play the Pirates for four games at Turner Field as their second to last series of the season. The average price for Atlanta Braves tickets on the secondary market is currently $45.

Los Angeles Dodgers | Avg. Price: $40

The Dodgers have pulled ahead of the Giants by 2.5 games with just over two weeks of regular season games to play. Under the dominant pitching of Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke, Los Angeles has been a force in the West all season long. The season average for Los Angeles Dodgers tickets is $40 on the secondary market as they play a pivotal home series against the Giants beginning September 22 and close the regular season at home against the Rockies at the end of the month.

St. Louis Cardinals | Avg. Price: $40

The Cardinals have not statistically won the NL Central yet, but their 4.5-game lead over the Pirates is comfortable enough for breathing room as they prepare for the postseason. The Cardinals will host three more series at Busch Stadium against the Rockies, Brewers and Reds before the postseason begins.

Washington Nationals | Avg. Price: $32
