SpaceX Test Suffers an 'Anomaly' During Test -- NASA

NASA reports that a test of a Space X rocket suffered an “anomaly” accident. It is not clear what the accident was, or how much it will set back a program that the government agency and the private rocket maker are working on.

NASA took to Twitter to make the announcement:

NASA has been notified about the results of the @SpaceX Static Fire Test and the anomaly that occurred during the final test. We will work closely to ensure we safely move forward with our Commercial Crew Program.

Attached to the tweet was the following statement:

NASA and the SpaceX team are assessing the anomaly that occurred today during part of the Dragon Super Draco Static Fire Test at SpaceX Landing Zone 1 in Florida. This is why we test. We will learn, make the necessary adjustments and safely move forward with our commercial drew program.   Jim Bridenstine, Administrator.

The system is part of an inflight abort system.
