Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) has just posted earnings. The online retail giant has posted earnings of $0.41 in non-GAAP EPS and $4.89 billion in revenue. Thomson Reuters had estimates of $0.31 EPS and $4.76 in revenue. The operating income of $244 million is down from some $268 million expected.
The guidance for the current quarter is $4.3 billion to $4.75 billion, with estimates for net income at $110 million to $190 million including $90 million in stock and other items. The mid-point of the range here is under estimates. The estimates for Q2-2009 are $0.30 EPS and $4.61 billion in revenue.
Amazon.com’s stock closed up almost 2% at $80.61, and its 52-week trading range is $34.68 to $91.75. The reaction in the initial after-hours trading has shares trading down around $77.00.
