It may seem like corporate earnings season is just about over, but next week we have a flurry of reports with some tech and a monster amount of retail companies. We have compiled earnings previews for more than twenty key companies. Our detailed previews are for the following companies: J. C. Penney Company, Inc. (NYSE: JCP); Lowe’s Companies Inc. J. C. Penney Company, Inc. (NYSE: JCP) is due Monday with earnings. Thomson Reuters has estimates of $0.25 EPS and $3.95 billion in revenues; next quarter estimates are $0.21 EPS and $4.00 billion in revenues. With shares around $38.301, its 52-week trading range is $19.42 to $39.73.
Lowe’s Companies Inc. (NYSE: LOW) is due to report on Monday and will act as the preview for Home Depot this week as well. With all of the lagging home sales, investors are going to want to know if the prior guidance can be lived up to or not. Thomson Reuters has estimates of $0.37 EPS and $12.56 billion in revenues; next quarter estimates are $0.68 EPS and $14.82 billion in revenues. With shares around $25.65, its 52-week trading range is $19.35 to $27.45.
Urban Outfitters Inc. (NASDAQ: URBN) is due Monday afternoon. Thomson Reuters has estimates of $0.25 EPS and $522.05 million in revenues; next quarter estimates are $0.39 EPS and $613.67 million in revenues. With shares around $33.10, its 52-week trading range is $29.03 to $39.26.
Dell Inc. (NASDAQ: DELL) is due Tuesday after the close and may act at least as a mini-preview for H-P later in the week. Thomson Reuters has estimates of $0.43 EPS and $15.4 billion in revenues; next quarter estimates are $0.44 EPS and $16.04 billion in revenues. With shares around $16.50, its 52-week trading range is $11.34 to $16.80. The big question is whether or not investors can convince themselves that even if Dell is slow that it is worth buying on a valuation perspective now that shares are close to a 52-week high.
The Home Depot, Inc. (NYSE: HD) is due Tuesday morning and just like Lowe’s will be a sign of what the future of housing is for the secondary and repair market. Thomson Reuters has estimates of $0.50 EPS and $17.03 billion in revenues; next quarter estimates are $0.83 EPS and $19.98 billion in revenues. With shares around $36.90, its 52-week trading range is $26.62 to $39.38.
Saks Incorporated (NYSE: SKS) reports on Tuesday and the turnaround continues. Thomson Reuters has estimates of $0.16 EPS and $731.95 million in revenues; next quarter estimates are -$0.13 EPS and $617.21 million in revenues. With shares around $11.50, its 52-week trading range is $6.60 to $12.97.
The TJX Companies, Inc. (NYSE: TJX) reports on Tuesday and its shares just hit a new high on Friday as it continues to fire on all cylinders. Thomson Reuters has estimates of $0.81 EPS and $5.17 billion in revenues; next quarter estimates are $0.84 EPS and $5.34 billion in revenues. With shares around $54.50, its new 52-week trading range is $39.56 to $54.94.
Trina Solar Ltd. (NYSE: TSL) is due Tuesday. Thomson Reuters has estimates of $1.09 EPS and $587.32 million in revenues; next quarter estimates are $1.07 EPS and $621.86 million in revenues. With shares around $25.20, its 52-week trading range is $14.85 to $31.89.
Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE: WMT) is due Tuesday morning and the world’s largest retailer remains stuck. We are not looking for much good news on the quarterly same-store sales. Thomson Reuters has estimates of $0.95 EPS and $103.2 billion in revenues; next quarter estimates are $1.08 EPS and $107.69 billion in revenues. With shares around $55.40, its 52-week trading range is $47.77 to $57.90.
Alkermes, Inc. (NASDAQ: ALKS) is sort of an afterthought now that its Elan deal has been announced. We are looking solely for a reiteration of its long-term targets and we are looking for more analysts coverage to go in its favor. It is due Wednesday.
BJ’s Wholesale Club Inc. (NYSE: BJ) is due Wednesday and maybe we’ll get to find out more on would-be mergers. Thomson Reuters has estimates of $0.56 EPS and $2.81 billion in revenues; next quarter estimates are $0.72 EPS and $2.95 in revenues. With shares around $51.77, its 52-week trading range is $36.77 to $52.38.
Deere & Company (NYSE: DE) is due Wednesday morning. Thomson Reuters has estimates of $2.06 EPS and $8.14 billion in revenues; next quarter estimates are $1.65 EPS and $7.28 billion in revenues. With shares around $88.10, its 52-week trading range is $53.20 to $99.80. Deere shares have now corrected 10% from the highs.
Dillard’s Inc. (NYSE: DDS) is due Wednesday with earnings and shares briefly hit a 52-week high on Friday morning. Thomson Reuters has estimates of $0.91 EPS and $1.47 billion in revenues; next quarter estimates are $0.14 EPS and $1.41 billion in revenues. With shares around $55.20, its 52-week trading range is $19.26 to $56.76. Valuations are looking at a premium due to a restructuring and compared to peers.
Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE: HPQ) is due Wednesday after the close and we’ll be looking to see how Leo Apotheker’s second real earnings report can look. Thomson Reuters has estimates of $1.21 EPS and $31.53 billion in revenues; next quarter estimates are $1.24 EPS and $31.80 billion in revenues. With shares around $40.25, its 52-week trading range is $37.32 to $50.00.
Pan American Silver Corp. (NASDAQ: PAAS) is due Wednesday and silver traders will want to know how it is dealing with the plummet in silver from the peak of just two weeks ago. Thomson Reuters has estimates of $0.54 EPS and $218.67 million in revenues; next quarter estimates are $0.68 EPS and $247.59 million in revenues. With shares around $31.75, its 52-week trading range is $22.21 to $43.06.
Staples, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPLS) is also due on Wednesday. Thomson Reuters has estimates of $0.32 EPS and $6.19 billion in revenues; next quarter estimates are $0.25 EPS and $5.75 billion in revenues. With shares around $20.25, its 52-week trading range is $17.45 to $23.75.
Target Corporation (NYSE: TGT) is due Wednesday and traders will attempt to have read into Target via Wal-Mart the day before. Thomson Reuters has estimates of $0.95 EPS and $16.02 billion in revenues; next quarter estimates are $0.99 EPS and $16.13 billion in revenues. With shares around $51.50, its 52-week trading range is $48.23 to $60.97.
Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADSK) reports on Thursday. Thomson Reuters has estimates of $0.37 EPS and $522.77 million in revenues; next quarter estimates are $0.40 EPS and $527.85 million in revenues. With shares around $45.75, its 52-week trading range is $23.64 to $46.15. That new high was actually just on Friday.
Dollar Tree, Inc. (NASDAQ: DLTR) is due to report on Thursday and will give more data for dollar store investors. Thomson Reuters has estimates of $0.74 EPS and $1.51 billion in revenues; next quarter estimates are $0.73 EPS and $1.53 billion in revenues. With shares around $60.85, its 52-week trading range is $39.16 to $61.80 and that high was hit on Friday.
GameStop Corporation (NYSE: GME) is due Thursday and the game retailer has tried to get back on track. Thomson Reuters has estimates of $0.54 EPS and $2.23 billion in revenues; next quarter estimates are $0.28 EPS and $1.91 billion in revenues. With shares around $26.70, its 52-week trading range is $17.70 to $27.69. That high was hit Friday and the company has been a buyer of its own shares.
Melco Crown Entertainment Ltd. (NASDAQ: MPEL) is due Thursday but we have already seen other Macau gaming reports now. This one is a pure-play on Macau. Thomson Reuters has estimates of $0.05 EPS and $807.57 million in revenues; next quarter estimates are -$0.01 EPS and $729.2 million in revenues. With shares around $10.57, its 52-week trading range is $3.42 to $11.11. As you can see, its shares have rallied a lot and it is now expected to keep running at profitability.
Salesforce.com (NYSE: CRM) is due Thursday afternoon and this high-flyer will be one to watch for volatility after earnings. Thomson Reuters has estimates of $0.27 EPS and $482.45 million in revenues; next quarter estimates are $0.26 EPS and $504.99 million in revenues. With shares around $135.70, its 52-week trading range is $73.91 to $151.26.
Sears Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ: SHLD) is due next Thursday and the recent warnings already set the bar low. Sears has been stuck and Eddie Lampert . Thomson Reuters has estimates of -$1.12 EPS and next quarter estimates are -$0.54 EPS. With shares around $77.30, its 52-week trading range is $59.21 to $117.04.
Yingli Green Energy Holding Co. Ltd. (NYSE: YGE) is due Friday. We have seen enough solar earnings that it probably won’t run the sector. Thomson Reuters has estimates of $0.46 EPS and $613.86 million in revenues; next quarter estimates are $0.42 EPS and $622.31 million in revenues. With shares around $10.70, its 52-week trading range is $8.31 to $14.29.
As with all earnings reports of this sort, the estimates and dates can change and they may have already changed.
