“Super Saturday” was this past weekend, the last Saturday before the Christmas holiday, and a day that ShopperTrak said would be the number one selling day of the year, surpassing even Black Friday. The retail analyst predicted sales would top $10 billion, well above this year’s $9.1 billion total for Black Friday.

Don’t despair if you had other things to do on Saturday, though. It is never too late to shop for bargains, and the world’s largest retailer, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE: WMT) wants to be sure and wring the last possible dollar out of consumers as Christmas day approaches. The company’s website is offering last-minute gifts that can be ordered online and shipped in time to arrive by Christmas day. Customers can also order items online and pick them up at the store.

Here is a random sample of some of the last-minute gifts available:

  • An Xbox One from Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ: MSFT) bundled with “Assassin’s Creed 5: Unity” is available for $349, marked down $50 from the list price. To get it by Christmas Eve adds $15.38 for expedited shipping and $21.36 for Rush shipping.
  • An AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) Nokia Lumia 635 prepaid smartphone from Microsoft is available for $69.84, a savings of $30 from the list price. The same phone is also available from T-Mobile US Inc. (NYSE: TMUS) for $68.17.
  • An HDMI DVD player from Sony Corp. (NYSE: SNE) is available for pickup for less than $40.

Not all the last-minute gifts are marked down, though. A Leap TV educational, active video gaming console from Leapfrog Enterprises Inc. (NYSE: LF) is available $149 and will arrive on Christmas Eve for an Expedited shipping charge of $8.38, or on December 23 for a Rush shipping charge of $10.37.

For real, dyed-in-the-wool, last-minute shoppers, Walmart is taking online orders as late as December 23 for pickup on Christmas Eve.
