Best Buy Launches President's Day Appliance Bargains

courtesy of U.S. National Park Service

There’s nothing very romantic about a new microwave or refrigerator, so Best Buy Co. Inc. (NYSE: BBY) has skipped the Valentine’s Day holiday and pushed right on ahead a week, launching its President’s Day promotions. The President’s Day sale runs until February 24.

The company is advertising up to 30% off selected appliances and special financing or loyalty point awards. For example, on an appliance purchase valued at $599 or more Best Buy offers 18-month financing with no interest charge if the balance is paid in full within the 18 month period. If a customer makes the purchase using a Best Buy-branded credit card, then 5% of the purchase price is returned in loyalty points. Sign up for a Best Buy credit card and you can get 10% back in loyalty points on your first purchase. Always read the fine print.

On to the deals. A Samsung 28.2-cubic foot, four-door French door refrigerator (RF28HMEDBSR) is on offer for $2,194.99, a savings of $1,105 (33.5%). Delivery is free, but there may be a fee for hauling away the old refrigerator.

A Samsung 24.5-cubic foot, side-by-side refrigerator (RS25J500DSR) is on sale for $999.99, a savings of $300 (21%) from the regular price. The same delivery terms apply.

A Samsung 1.8-cubic foot over-the-range microwave oven in stainless steel is selling for $249.99, a savings of $50 (16.7%) from the regular price. Shipping on this item is free as well. Best Buy is also selling an open-box version of this microwave for $186.99, a savings of nearly 38%.

Finally, if you’ve been waiting for a sale to replace all those old appliances, Best Buy is offering an additional 10% off the price if you buy at least four Samsung kitchen appliances. The offer is good on refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers and microwave ovens.
