Best Buy Wants Customers to Clean Up

Now that the big holiday gift-giving seasons are behind us, retailers have to pin their hopes for sales on more general occasions, like the beginning of spring. Best Buy Co. Inc. (NYSE: BBY) thinks that the beginning of spring is a good time to focus on cleaning and organizing.

The company has launched a “Purge Organize Refresh Celebrate” promotion that includes air purifiers, robot vacuum cleaners and easy upgrades to a customer’s home network. Best Buy also is offering a price match program for “key online and local retailers.”

To help organize those unwieldy files you’ve been creating all winter, Best Buy is selling a Western Digital My Cloud 2TB external hard drive (WDBCTL002HWT-NESN) for $128.99, a savings of $21 from the regular price of $149.99. Expedited shipping is free and rewards club members get 5% back in reward points.

Air purifiers seem to be unusually popular, with several colors sold out online. Best Buy is offering a Blueair Sense+ purifier in graphic black (SENSEPK120PACGB) for $499.99 in stores and online. Standard shipping is free, but the item is not available for store pickup. The same device at the same price is available in warm gray (SENSEPK120PACWG), leaf green (SENSEPK120PACLG) and ruby red (SENSEPK120PACRR) in stores only.

A Samsung POWERbot Cleaning Robot Vacuum (VR20H9050W) is selling for $899.99, a savings of $100 from the regular price of $999.99. Standard shipping is free, and this item is available for in-store pickup.
