Sears to Close Dozens of Stores: Here’s the List

Sears Holdings Corp. (NASDAQ: SHLD) will close 78 Sears and Kmart stores — 68 Kmart and 10 Sears — to improve the company’s financial situation. The list is below.

Defending the decision, Edward S. Lampert, chairman and chief executive officer of Sears Holding, said:

The decision to close stores is a difficult but necessary step as we take aggressive actions to strengthen our company, fund our transformation and restore Sears Holdings to profitability. We’re focusing on our best members, our best categories and our best stores as we work to accelerate our transformation.

The closing Kmart and Sears stores will start their liquidation sales on May 12 and April 29, respectively. Following is a complete list of the impacted stores:
