Shopping is one way that a lot of Americans choose to spend their holiday breaks, and Labor Day is no exception. And the Labor Day holiday, which falls on September 5 this year, is one of the best times of the year to shop.

This holiday is an especially good time of year to shop for a bargain on dishwashers and microwave ovens, according to researchers at WalletHub, who have been tracking prices on several product categories to figure out which products are most readily on sale in September. Other items that get heavy discounts in September are tablets and strollers.

The analysts also have picked out the 10 best deals they found for the Labor Day holiday itself, leading off with a Kenmore dishwasher (model #13093) selling for $349.99 at Sears Holdings Corp.’s (NASDAQ: SHLD) stores, a discount of $300 (46%) from the regular price of $649.99. Free store pickup or free delivery may also be available, depending on where a customer lives.

Electronics retailer hhgregg is offering a Samsung 55-inch 1080p LED Smart HDTV (model # UN55J6200) for $599.99, a 50% savings from the suggested retail price of $1,199.99. Free delivery for TV is only available on units that cost at least $997. In-store pickup is free at hhgregg retail stores.

Office Depot is selling a Lenovo FLEX 4 laptop with a 14-inch touchscreen, 8 GB of memory, and a 1 TB hard drive for $529.99, a savings of $200 (27%) from the regular price. The pricing is good until September 3 and store pickup or delivery is free.

WalletHub has also sorted out bargains in 10 categories and lists pricing and discounts by product and retailer. Big Lots, for example, is offering rocker recliners at $199.99, a 33% savings, on Sunday September 4 and Monday September 5 only.
