Lowe's Black Friday Deals Revealed

Thinkstock

Home improvement giant Lowe’s Companies Inc. (NYSE: LOW), like its rival Home Depot, does more business in the spring as consumers prepare to clean up after the winter and get their yards and homes in shape for the warm weather ahead. In the meantime, Black Friday is too good an opportunity to try to boost sales in a quarter where most people’s thoughts are far away from lawn mowers and house paint.

The company’s stores are closed on Thanksgiving Day, but will open at 6:00 a.m. local time Friday. The sales prices on some 400 items in Lowe’s 28-page ad supplement will become effective on Thanksgiving Day for online shoppers with free shipping available on some items. Sale prices are good through November 30.

The front page of the Black Friday ad supplement features 25% savings on artificial Christmas trees and 54% off inflatable yard ornament characters. Poinsettia plants are selling for $0.99 in stores while supplies last.

But home handypersons are looking to Lowe’s for tools, and the company is offering selected tools at savings of up to 50%. Among the hand tools we spotted a DeWalt cordless 4-tool set (#557394) including a half-inch drill driver, quarter-inch impact driver, reciprocating saw, and LED work light for $249, a savings of $150 from the regular price. If you can’t wait, the same item is on sale right now for $299.

Lowe’s has been running a sale on appliances since earlier this month offering savings of up to 40% on selected items. Black Friday shoppers can get an additional 5% discount and up to $450 in a Lowe’s gift card when purchasing two or more appliances.

To get a head start for next summer, a Char-Broil 3-burner gas grill (#606685) is on sale for $99, a savings of $80 from the regular price.
