Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) continues to add new ways for its Amazon Prime subscribers to shop at the company’s Whole Foods Market stores. On Tuesday the e-commerce giant launched Prime Now delivery service for Whole Foods stores in Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Palm Beach, parts of Long Island and some parts of Manhattan and Brooklyn.
Last week’s Prime Day promotion included Whole Foods stores for the first time, and Amazon said that Prime members “saved millions of dollars” with Prime Day deals, including best-selling organic strawberries.
Regarding today’s announcement of more cities included in Prime Now deliveries from Whole Foods stores, Christina Minardi, the stores’ executive vice-president of operations, said:
We’ve been delighted with the customer response to delivery in as little as an hour through Prime Now, and we’re excited to bring the service to our customers in Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Palm Beach, Long Island and New York City. Today’s announcement is another way that we are continuing to expand access to our high-quality products and locally-sourced favorites.
The Whole Foods one-hour deliveries launched earlier this year, and the company said it would expand the service to other neighborhoods in New York City and across the county this year.
According to Amazon, Prime members can peruse thousands of items across fresh and organic produce, bakery, dairy, meat and seafood, floral and everyday staples from Whole Foods, and all are available for delivery in as little as an hour. Select alcohol is also available for delivery.
Deliveries are available daily between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. and Prime members can check for availability in their areas at Amazon’s website or with the company’s Prime Now app for Android and Apple smartphones.
