New Menu Items At Your Favorite Restaurant Chains Coming This Spring
Published:
Last Updated:
Restaurant chains are forever revising their menus, adding new offerings either seasonally or for good, phasing out slow sellers (sometimes brought back after fans protest), or rolling out different new items in just a few markets at first to gauge customer reaction. (Some chains also offer “secret menus” – which are usually not all that secret. For example, here are some secret off-the-menu items to order at your favorite chains.)
Now that spring is here, some of America’s favorite chains are acknowledging the season with a variety of new items. To compile a list of some of these, 24/7 Tempo reviewed several editions of the Menu Tracker column published regularly by Nation’s Restaurant News, a leading national restaurant trade publication. The column, compiled by Bret Thorn, NRN’s senior food and beverage editor, details new additions to menus at a wide range of chain restaurants around the U.S.

Perhaps because warmer weather often encourages lighter eating, seafood is prominent on this list – including four different presentations of shrimp. Chicken is always popular, too, and there are four examples here, and turkey is represented with two variations on the club sandwich. (Here are some of the most successful restaurant chains in America.)
Many of these items will disappear some time between mid-April and the end of May, while others are permanent offerings – at least for now.
