Best Movies to Stream on Netflix This Month

wutwhanfoto / iStock Editorial via Getty Images

Netflix has been in the news lately for its losses, but subscribers don’t have to worry about running out of great movies to stream on the platform any time soon. Films do rotate off Netflix every month, but there are always more than enough to take their place.

To determine the best movies to stream on Netflix this June, 24/7 Tempo developed an index using average ratings on IMDb, an online movie database owned by Amazon, and a combination of audience scores and Tomatometer scores on Rotten Tomatoes, an online movie and TV review aggregator, as of May 2022, weighting all ratings equally. We considered only movies with at least 5,000 audience votes on either IMDb or Rotten Tomatoes. Documentaries were not considered. Data on streaming availability, current as of this month, comes from the streaming guide Reelgood. (Not a Netflix subscriber? Here are the best movies to screen for free this month.)

You’ll find something on this list to suit every taste, every mood – comedies, action flicks, horror and sci-fi, spy films (from James Bond to Jason Bourne), and much more. Classics like “The Exorcist,” “Bonnie and Clyde,” and “Blade Runner” are here, as are works by such famed directors as Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, and Quentin Tarantino.

Some of the films on this list have enjoyed enormous commercial success, while some have appealed more to critics than to audiences, but all are worth watching. (And in case you prefer multi-episode shows to one-and-done movies, these are the 50 best Netflix original series.)
