Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know how big Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) has gotten over the last five years or so. People have seen what’s going on in the environment and have decided that electric cars are the way to go. It also doesn’t hurt that you don’t have to stop and fill up your car all the time anymore. Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla, and many other things, has made sure to have his face as close to the brand as he can. It’s almost impossible to go one day without hearing about Elon or Tesla in some capacity. One type of car Tesla has created is the Model Y. While it might seem like a good idea to purchase one, don’t. This is why you need to avoid a Model Y.
You Can’t Customize It
One of the best parts about cars is the ability to customize them. With a Model Y, you can’t do that. If you’re going to be spending a lot of money on a car, you should be able to set it up however you want. To do that, you’d have to spend even more money on a Tesla to get the higher-end version. Worrying about what exact model of the car you need to get to customize it shouldn’t be on the table. With the Model Y, it is.
There’s So Much Technology Inside It
One thing Elon has made sure of is that each Tesla has the best technology in the world. While this seems nice and amazing, it can be awful. People are now easily able to hack into your car and even control it if they’re close enough, thanks to AI. Someone might be able to find out where you live, where you work, and if you have a daily routine. There are so many bad outcomes to anyone knowing this that it’s best to just avoid the scenario in general. There are tons of other cars out there where this won’t happen.
It’s More Expensive Than Most SUVs
Nobody wants to waste money. If you buy a Model Y, that’s exactly what you’d end up doing. The Model Y is one of the most expensive SUVs on the market today. So much so, that it would take years to match what you’d be saving from not having to get gas all the time in it. The Model Y starts at around $45,000, which isn’t bad for an electric car. it is compared to all other cars on the market. There’s no reason to spend the extra money on it, especially given how high-interest rates are for cars.
It’s Tough to Support an Elon Musk Company
Elon Musk truly is one of the most polarizing figures we have in our society today. Unfortunately, a lot of what he says is very questionable or shaky. If you buy a Tesla, you’re supporting Elon Musk and whatever he says. You’re also putting more money in his pocket for SpaceX, which isn’t good for the environment. Elon’s goal, as he’s always said, is to get to Mars. Launching rockets to do so only is destroying where we currently live. Sadly, the best electric car brand is owned by someone with such awful morals.
You Have to Keep a Constant Eye on the Charge
These days, there are a lot of places to make sure your Tesla is charged up. However, they are still rare compared to gas stations. If you have a regular car or even a hybrid, then you know you’re always going to be safe and not in dire need of a charge. If you only can charge your car, you are susceptible to not being able to take road trips or truly go where you want to. On the off chance you do go on one, there’s the probability you’d have to change your course to make sure you always have access to a charge.
People Will Key It in Public
There are a lot of people who are annoyed and upset that they can’t afford a Tesla. Rather than work hard to get one, they like to take out their frustrations on your car. One viral trend that was going on was keying any Tesla you see in public. Why would you want to own a car that triggers so many people in such a negative way? You’re also going to become an easy target for attacks when you’re driving around. Tesla has the right idea when it comes to doing what it can for the environment and the safety of our planet. Buying the Model Y isn’t the way to go, though.
