Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT) is trying to do what it can to keep Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL), Google Inc. (NASDAQ: GOOG), and whatever other competitors it has at bay.  Today came the first new logo in 25 years from the company ahead of key product launches like Windows 8 to unify the experience.  We don’t want to just say the news here.  We want to know what you think.  Take our poll below and tell us… DO YOU LIKE THE NEW MICROSOFT LOGO?

[polldaddy poll=6484154]

What is interesting is that when I typed in the Bing search bar “new Microsoft logo” the top results were news-related stories about the new logo rather than the company’s own announcement.  That seems odd considering that Bing did not even give the official Microsoft logo from its own page when Bing is Microsoft’s search engine.  That just seems odd that search is becoming so hyper-focused on breaking news that it would default to that.

The launch is ahead of the coming Windows 8 launch and is obviously an aim to refresh and unify its brands ahead of a key product launch. After all, the logo for the whole company has been the same for the last 25 years.
