Look who’s stolen Tim Cook’s spotlight.

One month after Robert Mueller came out of retirement to investigate Russian interference in the 2016 election, Jamie Erlicht and Zack Van Amburg were hired from Sony to run Apple’s original programming operation.

It’s coincidence that the two efforts—each nearly two years in the making—have come to a head within 24 hours. But for someone like me, who’s been following both stories obsessively, the news that dominating the national conversation this morning is a distraction.

My take: It’s hard—very hard—but I’ll do my best to resist. Next stop: Apple Park.

Apple’s livestream is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. Pacific, 1 p.m. Eastern. Click here to watch the show.
