Video Gets Out Of Hand, Verizon Starts TV Station

In a move to differentiate its TV service over fiber, Verizon (VZ) will launch a local TV station in Washington. Part of the programming will come from local news anchors and part will be user created.

There is a theory that no one will watch programming of this sort. Its appeal is limited. And, it competes with the 500 channels and fiber, cable, of satellite already send to the TV. That does not include Apple (AAPL) ITV or Amazon (AMZN) Unbox programming. And, it does not include all the video that goes to consumer cellphones.

More channels that one can count.
