Deutsche Telekom Gets VoIP Disease

Deusche Telekom (DT) is beginning to suffer from the same disease that is hitting its US counterparts. It fixed line business is falling apart as customers move to lower costs services. And, in most cases that is vouce-over-IP.

DT lost 588,000 customers in Q1. Its earnins dropped 58% to $621 million. While earnings at AT&T (T) and Verizon (VZ) have not started to take this kind of slide, it may be a sign of things to come.
