Microsoft (MSFT) Looks To Big Gains In Wireless OS

Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) is predicting that the number of smartphones will move up to 400 million handsets in the next three years. It expects that its share of mobile operating systems will rise at the same time.

According to Reuters "Microsoft, the world’s largest software maker, has predicted its Windows Mobile license sales will reach 20 million in its fiscal year ending in June, nearly doubling its sales from a year earlier."

The marketers of the dominant Symbian OS which competes with Microsoft may have something to say about that, which is why predictions of what the market will be several years out are useless.
