Where in your state does it get the snowiest each winter? Some states see very little snow overall, while others may get dozens of inches of snow in only one day. On the other hand, some states are so immense that they have varied climates throughout, while mountains also make a difference in the overall amount of snowfall. However, if you want to avoid the snow altogether, and instead bask in the sun, check out the 40 hottest cities in America.
24/7 Wall St. used data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to calculate the total snowfall over the winters of 2016, 2017, and 2018 during the months of November through March. For every state in the country, we listed the county with the weather station recording the most snowfall in the state over this period. Total snowfall has decreased in many parts of North America since records started being kept. In only six states, snowfall records were set after 2010, according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Why This Matters

Snowy days when roads are hard to trespass can keep people cozy at home, but may negatively affect the economy with lost revenue. Furthermore, city economies in snowy areas must budget to provide snow plows and salt to keep roads passable. Severe storms can also cause power loss and road shutdowns, all of which negatively impact the economy.
