Auto industry consumer research firm J.D. Power announced Friday its list of the 13 top-rated 2018 vehicles. The firm’s top-rated vehicle is the Porsche 911, a storied name that just beats out a relatively new name, the Genesis G90 from Korean carmaker Hyundai.

J.D. Power bases its scores on verified data gathered from consumers on considerations such as quality, dependability, performance, reviews, awards and dealership ratings. Combined with depreciation data, J.D. Power calculates a vehicle rating on a scale of 0 to 100.

Troy Snyder, J.D. Power consumer division vice president, said:

With nearly 600 models receiving a score of 81 or higher, car shoppers can find a high-quality vehicle on JDPower.com that suits their wants and needs. In addition to the rating scores, car shoppers can see which vehicles won a J.D. Power award by segment, so they can rest assured that they’re making a wise purchase decision.
