Another Court Rejects Obama Oil Rig Shutdown

Obama may never get his way as he tries to shut down deepwater drilling in the Gulf as a reaction to the BP disaster

An appellate court upheld a ruling the the government does not have the right to close the operations of companies drilling in the region.A federal appeals court rejected a bid by the federal government to restore a moratorium on offshore oil drilling, reports said late Thursday. The decision was handed down by a three-judge panel for the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. The Obama administration had sought a stay of a lower-court ruling that lifted a moratorium that was established in the wake of the massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico according to MarketWatch.

The Administration has repeatedly said it will issue a new order to prevent further drilling.
