According to Field & Stream, a mid-priced handgun will range from around $600 to $1,200. While Field & Stream advises that spending this amount will get you the most value for your money, there are pistols on the market for surprisingly higher amounts. Those looking for historic firearms or custom-made luxury brands will find prices ranging well over the mid-range cost.
A pair of pistols owned by George Washington once sold for the staggering price of $1.98 million, while a pair of pistols owned by Alexander Hamilton sold for $1.15 million. Antique firearms previously owned by notable figures have historical significance, and subsequently, may fetch high dollar amounts.
However, readily available pistols do not typically cost this much. That said, there are still some very expensive pistols out there, including new military firearms. For this list, we obtained the data for the most expensive pistols you can buy from online firearms stores, like the Palmetto State Armory.
We’ve included the original price with each pistol. This is the price listed on popular online retailers, not counting any sales.
