All sorts of odd houses are among the most searched properties each week. At the top of the list this past week is a castle in Denmark Township, MN with an asking price of $3.6 million.

The house is made of stone, has four bedrooms and four and a half baths. It takes up 4,732 square feet and sits on 5.41 acres. The home was built in 1920. According to Realtor.com, which keeps records of the most viewed listings in America, the house has not been on the market for six decades.

The house does not have a pool but sits near the St. Croix River, where some people prefer not to swim. According to the National Park Service:

The St. Croix River is known as one of the cleanest rivers in the Midwest. Yet all is not well, even with the St. Croix. In 2006 Wisconsin and Minnesota signed an agreement to work toward a 20% reduction in phosphorus loading in the St. Croix River Basin. This will help restore the St. Croix to a level closer to what existed in the 1940’s

Denmark Township is west of St Paul, on the Minnesota border with Wisconsin. It has slightly less than 1,400 residents. Almost all residents are White. The median household income is $74,821, well above the national average. The poverty rate is less than 3%, well below the national average.

The listing:

Riverfront 1 of a kind historic home available for the 1st time in over 60 years. Designed by the late Ellerbe Becket w/ outstanding craftsmanship & detail, from marble floors, to hand carved woodwork, & locally quarried limestone exterior. Numerous levels w/ many vantages. Panoramic views, large entertaining spaces inside & out, serene setting nestled in the woods on the bluff of the scenic St. Croix River. Enjoy your own private beach, perfect for boating, swimming & entertaining.Truly unique!

Potential buyers may want to wait awhile. The house is so strange, the price may fall.
