Markets in Europe were flat to slightly down 5.25 AM New York time.

The FTSE was even with yesterday’s close at 6,444. Barclays was up .2% to 783. BP was down .3% to 533. BT was down .8% to 314.75. GlaxoSmithKline was down .1% to 1491. Prudential was down .9% to 718.5. Reuters was down 1.1% to 430.75. Unilever was down .2% to 1403. Vodafone was up .5% to 151.5.

The DAXX was down .1% to 6,979. Bayer was down .7% to 44.17. DaimlerChrysler was down 1.5% to 55.26. DeutscheBank was up .3% to 106.97. Deutsche Telekom was down .6% to 13.49. SAP was down .3% to 35.51. Siemens was up .2% to 85.15.

The CAC 40 was down .3% to 5,724. Alcatel-Lucent was down .6% to 9.93. AXA was down .3% to 32.94. France Telecom was down .7% to 21.35. ST Micro was up .7% to 14.81. Vivendi was up .8% to 31.11.
