Airbus A380 Wing Cracks Lead to Fleet Inspections (EADSY)

The discovery of small cracks in a bracket that attaches the wing frame to the outer skin of the Airbus A380 is now leading to an inspection of about one-third of the planes currently flying. The A380 is the largest plane in the sky and is made by the European Aeronautic Defense and Space Co. NV (OTC: EADSY).

According to a report from Reuters, the European air safety agency is set to recommend the immediate inspection of all A380s with more than 1,800 takeoffs and landings. Planes with lower numbers will also be checked. The first cracks were discovered earlier this week.

The aircraft subject to the inspections are primarily owned by Singapore Airlines, Emirates Air, and Air France.
