Now that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) has reported huge quarterly revenues and profits, everyone can get back to chasing the rumors on the next product that will be coming out of Cupertino. First in line, of course, is the next version of the iPhone, currently designated the iPhone 5 by Apple followers.
A report at 9to5Mac.com notes that an employee at Apple’s assembly plant in China says the company is gearing up production for the new iPhone, which means that the device could be announced this summer. Rumored features include a screen-size larger than 4-inches and a different form factor, although not a tear-drop shaped case as was rumored once upon a time for the iPhone 4S.
9to5Mac says its source for the story is the same one who told the web site late last summer that Apple would not release an iPhone 5 at that time, choosing instead to release the iPhone 4S.
