
Conatus Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: CNAT) has taken a hit in the after-hours today dropping 12.6% to $6.80. This came on the heels of its second quarter results where it posted a net loss of $5.3 million. This biotech company closed the day on a positive note at $7.78 before the earnings hit.
Enphase Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ: ENPH) had been moving higher on earnings news of late, but the solar microinverter maker announced a secondary stock offering by selling stockholders – and Enphase Energy will not receive any proceeds from the share sale. This had shares down close to 6% at $10.86 but on very thin trading volume.
The ExOne Company (NASDAQ: XONE) has had a rough day closing at 29.55 a loss of 2.35%. But the bad news isn’t over yet, in after-hours trading ExOne was down 8.6% to $27.00. The second quarter earnings were posted after the close potentially resulting in this slide. The revenue was reported at $11.2 million reading below Thomson Reuters consensus estimate of $12.1 million. This loss is a mixed message because guidance was given expecting annual revenue for 2014 to grow 40% to 50%.
Noodles & Company (NASDAQ: NDLS) closed down 0.5% at $25.21 ahead of earnings. unfortunately, that was nothing compared to later. Comparable restaurant sales decreased 0.6% for company-owned restaurants, 1.2% for franchise restaurants and 0.7% system-wide, unadjusted for Easter – but its adjusted net income fell 7.5% to $3.7 million and earnings per diluted share fell to $0.12 from $0.13. Noodles & company shares were down as much as 20% at $25.21 on over 275,000 shares within 50 minutes after the close of trading.
Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. (NYSE: PBR), or Petrobras, had a very strange day as Brazilian stocks slid on news that one of the rival presidential election candidates dies in a plane crash. The stock fell 4.4% in normal trading to $15.46 on Wednesday, and the after-hours session had shares down less than 0.5%. We would point out that NYSE trading quotes had its preferred stock up 2.5% on fairly thin volume. Stay tuned for Thursday on confirming the after-hours trading direction.
Tekmira Pharmaceuticals Corporation (NASDAQ:TKMR) was halted after the close for a corporate update that included its report of another loss, royalty payments, and an update on its clinical hold of the ebola drug. This was halted until 5:00 p.m. After the stock reopened, active trading had shares down over 2% at $18.15.
Vipshop Holdings Limited (NYSE: VIPS) had sales north of $829 million and revenues for the next quarter were put in a range of $850 to $860 million, both above estimates. Still, shares slid after the close on Wednesday. After closing up 4.3% at $229.18, but the stock was down 6.7% at $213.75 in active trading of over 300,000 since the close.
