March 9, 2015: Markets opened higher on Monday as worries about Greece were overcome by anticipation of today’s launch of the Apple Watch. That turned out to have only a short and small impact on shares this afternoon. Trading volume was light. Shortly before the closing bell the DJIA traded up 0.87% for the day, the S&P 500 traded up 0.48%, and the Nasdaq Composite traded up 0.32%.

The DJIA stock posting the largest daily percentage gain ahead of the close Monday was United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX) which traded up 2.09% at $121.93. The stock’s 52-week range is $97.30 to $124.45. Trading volume was about 15% below the daily average of around 4 million shares. The company had no specific news today.

UnitedHealth Group Inc. (NYSE: UNH) traded up 1.73% at $114.83. The stock’s 52-week range is $73.61 to $116.58. Trading volume was less than half the daily average of around 4.1 million shares. The company had no specific news today.

Cisco Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: CSCO) traded higher by 1.64% at $29.40. The stock’s 52-week range is $21.27 to $30.31. Trading volume was about 40% below the daily average of around 31 million shares. The company had no specific news today.

Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ: MSFT) traded up 1.35% at $42.93. The stock’s 52-week range is $37.51 to $50.05. Trading volume was about 25% below the daily average of around 36 million shares. The company had no specific news today.
