The 4 Stocks That Dominated the Dow on Wednesday

June 10, 2015: Markets opened higher on Wednesday on a weaker dollar and no news of any kind on Greece and the eurozone. Economic news was in short supply as well, so equities followed crude oil to a higher finish. Shortly before the closing bell the DJIA traded up 1.42% for the day, the S&P 500 traded up 1.30%, and the Nasdaq Composite traded up 1.37%.

The DJIA stock posting the largest daily percentage gain ahead of the close Wednesday was Visa Inc. (NYSE: V) which traded up 2.47% at $69.63. The stock’s 52-week range is $48.80 to $70.69. About 4.6 million shares traded hands today, a little more than half the daily average. The company had no specific news today.

Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ: MSFT) traded up 2.25% at $46.67. The stock’s 52-week range is $40.12 to $50.05. Trading volume totaled about 20 million shares, well below the daily average of more than 36 million. The company cut the price of its Xbox One and introduced its Surface Hub conferencing system today.

Intel Corp. (NASDAQ: INTC) traded up 2.17% at $31.93. The stock’s 52-week range is $27.77 to $37.90. Trading volume reached nearly 29 million shares, below the daily average of around 32 million. The company had no specific news today.

International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE: IBM) traded higher 2.02%% at $169.02. The stock’s 52-week range is $149.52 to $196.40. Trading volume was around 3.3million shares, in line with the daily average of around 3.9 million. The company had no specific news today.

All 30 Dow stocks are on track to close higher today.
