Ford, General Electric Stumble into Friday’s 52-Week Low Club

August 18, 2017: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 277 equities making new 52-week lows in Friday’s session. On the NYSE, advancers led decliners by about 4 to 3 and on the Nasdaq advancers led decliners by nearly the same margin.

Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F) dropped about 1.6% Friday to post a new 52-week low of $10.47 after closing at $10.64 on Thursday. The stock’s 52-week high is $13.27. Volume of more than 37 million was less than 10% above the daily average of about 36.6 million. The company had no specific news.

Foot Locker Inc. (NYSE: FL) dropped about 29% Friday to register a new 52-week low of $34.41 after closing at $47.70 on Thursday. The 52-week high is $79.43. Volume was around 32 million, about 8 times the daily average. General Electric Co. (NYSE: GE) dropped about 1.3% Friday to post a new 52-week low of $24.44 after closing Thursday at $24.75. The 52-week high is $32.38. Volume of around 27 million shares traded was about 30% below the daily average of around 39 million. The industrial giant had no specific news Friday.

Marathon Oil Corp. (NYSE: MRO) posted a new 52-week low of $10.55 on Friday, down about 2.5% from Thursday’s closing price of $10.82. The stock’s 52-week high is $19.28. Volume totaled around 25 million shares, about 40% higher than the daily average of around 15 million. The company had no specific news.
