Monday was a down day for the broad U.S. markets, with all three major indexes taking a dip to start the week. Crude oil took a small step backward in the session as well. The S&P 500 sectors were practically all negative. The most positive sector was real estate up less than 0.1%. The worst performing sectors were energy and financials down 1.3% and 1.0%, respectively.
Crude oil was last seen trading down 0.4% at $67.33.
Gold was last seen trading down 1.4% at $1,201.40.

The S&P 500 stock posting the largest daily percentage gain ahead of the close was Nielsen Holdings PLC (NYSE: NLSN) which traded up about 11% at $24.41. The stock’s 52-week range is $20.53 to $42.16. Volume was about 28 million compared to the daily average volume of 4.7 million.
