Today marks the official launch of Conde Nast’s new "Portfolio" Magazine. This is a monthly business magazine publication that subscribers will be able to subscribe to for $12.00 plus $3.00 shipping and handling.
This is an interesting launch considering that the magazine and newspaper industry has been under fire from online properties, but Conde Nast is no stranger in the publication universe for magazines. They also have other titles such as Wired, House & Garden, Glamour, Vanity Fair, Architectural Digest, The New Yorker, and many more.
In the letter from the editor, this aims to be business coverage with guts and power.
The first edition can be seen online and has features such as Tom Wolfe on the "new masters of the universe," Bill Ford’s fight to keep the Ford family inside the company, the corporate cost of the Iraq war, an interview with T. Boone Pickens, how to virtually invest in star athletes, profiteering on global warming, and more.
It’s going to be a while before we know how this one turns out.
