Record-Setting March Warm Weather… Climate Change or Global Warming?

Did you notice how there were no cold fronts worth noting at all in March in many parts of the country?  March of 2012 appears to have been the warmest March on record. Weather.com listed that dozens of cities saw their warmest March ever and now the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration showed its report that March was the warmest month on record.  To add insult to injury, this was also the warmest January to March period on record as well.

The news may seem odd to some. Afterall, the news reports from The Weather Channel warn of snow showers and flurries being possible this afternoon in northern parts of Minnesota, Michigan, New York and New England.

Those of us in the South have been given our warnings from The Weather Channel: “Severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening in west Oklahoma, northwest Texas and southwest Kansas… Damaging wind gusts, hail and isolated tornadoes are possible… Tuesday’s severe threat area is in east New Mexico, west Texas, west Oklahoma, southwest Kansas, north Louisiana and southwest Mississippi.”

2012 may be called the year without a winter in many parts of the country.  The only good news is that pool supplies outfits probably had a great early start to the summer season.

Is it time to ask what the difference is between climate change and global warming again?
