Wal-Mart Kicks Off Cyber Monday With New Deals

Cyber Monday arrived sometime between Saturday and Monday morning for most U.S. retailers, and most are rolling out a some new deals to add to existing offers. Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE: WMT) announced several deals on Sunday and sweetened the pot Monday morning.

Some of Sunday’s deals included an Xbox One and PS4 similar to Black Friday — with a Xbox One “Gears of War” bundle at $299 and a PS4 “Star Wars: Battlefront” bundle with a headset at $399. The AirHogs Helix video drone is $75. Dell laptops are on sale at Wal-Mart, as is the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 for $200 less at $599; and a Windows 10 Toshiba laptop with Intel Core i3-4005U processor, 8GB memory and a 750GB hard drive for $100 less at $398. In TVs, at Wal-Mart there are the LG 65-inch 1080p HDTV priced $1,500 off at $899, a Samsung 48-inch 4K Ultra HD 60Hz LED curved screen HDTV is down to $1,100 from $2,000, and a Samsung 32-inch 720p LED HDTV is down $240 to $178.

New Cyber Monday deals include a Dell 15.6-inch laptop for $547, a savings of $152; a pressure cooker for $75, or $51 off; and Madden NFL 16 video game for Xbox one for $35, a savings of $25.

Wal-Mart is also promoting free shipping, free returns and free in-store pickup.

Online sales are widely touted to have saved the Thanksgiving weekend for many retailers. The National Retail Federation reported on Sunday that 103 million people surveyed say they shopped online, compared with 102 million who say they shopped in stores. A total of 151 million shoppers were out over the long weekend, either online or in the stores, or both.
