Some 68,500 fans will be jammed into Levi’s Stadium at kick-off time for Super Bowl 50, and if this year’s game attracts as many U.S. TV viewers as last year’s game, another 114 million or so Americans will be watching the action on TV. Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE: WMT) reckons this is a pretty good time to promote TVs.

The world’s largest retailer already advertises some good buys on big-screen TVs and has another one teed up for the week before the big game.

For example, a 55-inch LG 4K Ultra HD 2160p TV (55UF6450) is now selling for $698, a savings of around 22% from the list price of $899.99. Free value shipping or pickup at a nearby Wal-Mart store is included.

A 50-inch Vizio 4K Ultra HD 2160p LED Smart TV (D50u-D1) is selling for $598, a savings of $130 (18%) from the list price of $728.00. Free value shipping or pickup is included.

A 32-inch Sony 720p LED HDTV (KDL-32R300C) is available for $198. Wal-Mart notes that this is a special purchase, not a markdown. Value shipping or store pickup is free.

And, according to our source, a Samsung 50-inch 4K Ultra HD 2160p Smart TV (UN50J6500) that carries a list price of $1,349 will be available on January 29 for $698, a savings of 48%. Value shipping is free, as is store pickup.
