Best Buy Now Taking Pre-Orders for Apple MacBook Pro

The introduction of the new MacBook Pro from Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) has not been an unqualified triumph. The new laptops eschew a USB port and an SD slot, and at least one accessory maker has discovered an incompatibility with older Thunderbolt devices.

That has not deterred Best Buy Co. Inc. (NYSE: BBY) from promoting the new MacBooks at full retail pricing. A 13-inch MacBook Pro without the new TouchBar sells for $1,499.99 and is available now. The 13-inch model with the TouchBar sells for $1,799.99 but is only available for pre-orders. Apple indicated a ship date of two to three weeks following the late October launch.

While you’re waiting, though, Best Buy has some other holiday offers on TVs, iPhones and major appliances. Here’s a quick look as some items currently available.

A Sony 55-inch 2160p smart 4K Ultra HD TV (Model #XBR-55X850D) is selling for $999.99, a savings of $200 from the regular price. Shipping is free. Best Buy is also offering a $200 savings on two compatible soundbars if you buy this TV: a Sony 2.1-channel system (model #HTNT5) that sells for $799.99 and a Sony 7.1-channel system (model #HTST9) that sells for $1,499.99.

If you’re looking for a new iPhone 7 Plus, Best Buy is offering a $200 gift card with the purchase of the phone, as long as you also sign-up for a new line with a monthly installment plan from either Verizon or Sprint.

Finally, Best Buy is offering early Black Friday deals on some appliances, including a Whirlpool 24.8-cubic foot French door refrigerator (model #WRF535SMBM) for $999.99, a savings of $700 from the regular price. Delivery is free and installation and haul-away services are also available.
