Whether or not it is reported, if a vehicle has been involved in an accident, a prospective buyer should be aware of a car’s history on the road. There are more than 5 million car accidents in the United States annually.
Wikilender, a Burlingame, California-based website that helps consumers find the most favorable car loans, tallied up the 10 cars most likely to have been in accident.
Wikilender examined more than 2.4 million vehicles, 2009 and newer, in wholesale and retail markets to find which cars had the highest percentage of reported accidents. Wikilender used Experian Autocheck to determine whether the vehicle had a reported accident. To identify an unreported accident, Wikilender used auction condition reports that showed more than one metal body panel with signs of paintwork but where the Autocheck report did not show an accident. That is why it is an unreported accident.

The results of the report might surprise you. Luxury cars dominated the Wikilender list.
BMW topped the list with two models: the 4 series and X1. The 4 series was involved in 18.5% of the accidents and the Xi was involved in 18.0%.
The German vehicles were followed by the following:
- Range Rover Evoque (16.5%)
- Jaguar XJ (15.7%)
- Infiniti JX (14.6%)
- Lexus RX 350 (14.4%)
- Audi A5 (14.2%)
- Cadillac ATS (14.1%)
- Lexus CT 200h (13.6%)
- Infiniti QX60 (13.5%)
