These Modern Cars Are Keeping Manual Transmission Alive and Well

After first captivating audiences six years ago at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, De Tomaso has just unveiled the production version of the P72 supercar. The car is equipped with a supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 engine producing 700 horsepower, blending stunning Italian bodywork with potent American V-8 power. Of course, one of the core elements of the P72’s driver-centric design is its six-speed manual transmission. Although less than 15% of modern cars offer manual transmission options, over two dozen recent-model vehicles are still available with standard transmission. Using data from the EPA and U.S. Department of Energy, 24/7 Wall St. identified the manual cars and trucks you can still buy today.
