In New Hampshire, gun laws are slightly more relaxed than in the neighboring state of Massachusetts. For example, New Hampshire allows for permitless carry — meaning that gun owners don’t have to have a license to carry their weapon. Some states recognizing other states’ gun licenses. Massachusetts? Not so much. For gun owners in New Hampshire who might potentially cross state lines for any reason, this presents a significant issue. If you’re planning to take a weapon into Massachusetts, you need to first acquire a non-resident permit, pay an application fee and submit an application, and finalize any paperwork first — or else you might open yourself up to legal trouble. (Do you know your state’s gun law grade?)

However, if you’re a New Hampshire gun owner who is keeping your gun in state, you should have no issue. After all, New Hampshire loves its guns. In 2022, the state manufactured the most guns across all of America; its 2,896,632 firearms accounted for 21.6% of all domestic firearm production that year. Still, out of 33 federally licensed gunmakers in New Hampshire, only eight manufacturing facilities produced at least 100 firearms in 2022. To learn more about the leading firearm manufacturers in New Hampshire, 24/7 Wall St. dove into the details. We scoured websites and lists of federally licensed production facilities (so it’s important to note that, as a result, a company may appear more than once). Similarly, some brands on this list may be manufacturing firearms within the same facility as another, but are listed separately. Gunmakers who are federally licensed under their first and last name, rather than a company or brand name, were excluded from this list.

When you think of popular states for gun owners, New Hampshire might not be at the top of your list — but it should be. New Hampshire is incredibly gun-friendly. The National Shooting Sports Foundation found that New Hampshire’s gun industry generated $1.1 billion in output and supported an estimated 4,105 jobs in 2023. Plus, through property, sales, and income taxes, the state and federal government collected a combined $136.7 million in revenue from New Hampshire’s arms and ammunition industry. Learning more about New Hampshire’s top gun manufacturers provides more insight into what brands people view as strongest and where they’re willing to spend their money.
