Markets in Asia were narrowly mixed.

The Nikkei rose .3% to 17,470. Bridgestone was up 1.7% to 2635. Canon was flat at 6500. Fuji Film was down .2% to 4690. Hitachi was down .4% to 812. Honda wsa flat at 4740. NEC was down .5% to 818, NTT was down 1.1% to  610000. Docomo was down 1.6% to 185000. Sharp was down .2% to 1997. Softbank was up 5.6% to 2735. Sony was down 1.2% to 5730. Toshiba was down 1.4% to 786. Toyota was up .3% to 8000. Yahoo Japan was down 1.8% to 46600.

The Hang Seng dropped .2% to 20,239. Cathay Pacific rose 1% to 20.75. China Mobile fell 1.3% to 71.75. China Netcom rose 1.1% to 19.1. China Unicom rose 2.6% to 11.06. HSBC fell .6% to 142.7. PCCW rose .4% to 4.69.

The KOSPI fell .6% to 1,363.

The Straits Times rose 1.2% to 3,124.

The Shanghai Composite rose 2.2% to 2,945.
