There are several stocks trading more heavily than usual this morning, and also experiencing large gains or drops in share prices. These include Oxigene, Inc. (NASDAQ: OXGN), Diamond Foods Inc. (NASDAQ: DMND), Intel Corp. (NASDAQ: INTC), Skyline Corp. (NYSE: SKY), and Nexxus Lighting Inc. (NASDAQ: NEXS).
After about 45 minutes of trading this morning, Oxigene is up more than 26% at $1.28. Volume is already about double the daily average. The biopharmaceutical company has signed an agreement with a Danish pharmaceutical firm to provide one of Oxigene’s cancer drugs in Europe.

Intel is down more than -4% at $23.99. Volume is very heavy, having already reached half the normal daily average of about 63.5 million shares. The chip maker lowered fourth-quarter guidance as PC shipments have been scaled back as a result of disk drive shortages. We have more coverage here.
Skyline shares are down nearly -12% at $6.18. Volume has already reached more than half the usual daily average. The manufactured home builder has generated no news of its own recently, but shares have been rising steadily for a couple of weeks, and today’s move may be some profit taking.
Nexxus Lighting is down almost -16% at $1.00, a new 52-week low. Volume is already higher than the daily average. The LED lighting maker has not generated any news either, but shares have been falling steadily since mid-November.
