US appliance maker Whirlpool Corp. (NYSE: WHR) has filed complaints with the US Commerce Department and the US International Trade Commission related to dumping of clothes washers made in Korea and Mexico on the US market. The alleged offenders are Korean giants Samsung and LG Electronics.
In October, Whirlpool won preliminary rulings against the same two companies for dumping refrigerators on the US Market. As a result, the US imposed duties of up to 32.2% on Korean-made refrigerators and up to 36.65% Mexican-made refrigerators.
