Bookseller Barnes & Noble Inc. (NYSE: BKS) is reported to be negotiating a deal with British bookstore chaine Waterstone’s under which the UK bookseller would market B&N’s Nook e-reader. B&N is trying to expand overseas to keep up with Amazon.com (NASDAQ: AMZN) and its Kindle family of digital devices. Waterstone’s has been selling the Reader from Sony Corp. (NYSE: SNE) for about three years, according to the report from Bloomberg News.

B&N’s shares took a beating earlier this month when the company said it may spin off its Nook division into a separate company. Nook sales are estimated to account for about 20% of the company’s revenue in 2011.
